LACCICO R2-CS: Delicate strength at 2 mm diameter
At 2 mm in diameter, this round lace is the classic choice for leather shoes with concealed eyelets: Oxfords, brogues, dress shoes and designer shoes. It blends unobtrusively into the lacing.
Material and manufacture: 100% cotton, braided to be tear-resistant.
The R2-CS finishing process: After braiding, the laces are waxed, hot-rolled and polished. The wax penetrates the braid and protects the fibre from moisture and abrasion. The result is a smooth surface with a satin-matte sheen that blends harmoniously with the texture of the finest shoe leathers.
Durability and function: The laces are a little stiff at first and become more supple with wear. Round laces do not twist and are easy to lace. With concealed eyelets, the lace should be thinner than the inside of the eyelet, otherwise the surface suffers when it is pulled through. Before ordering, it is best to measure your old laces. R2-CS in Blackish Brown: a choice for connoisseurs
At first glance black, in the light a rich brown like dark chocolate: a choice for connoisseurs and for handmade leather shoes.
Short, 45 and 60 cm: 45 cm is enough for a single pair of eyelets. 60 cm suits derbies with low-set quarters that sit far forward on the instep.
Classic, 75 and 90 cm: On dark brown and black Oxfords it sits calmly and takes the hardness out of black. For a stronger foot or ankle-high styles, choose 90 cm. The figures apply to medium shoe sizes; for EU size 36 or 37, one step less is often enough.
Long, 120 to 180 cm: On ankle boots with concealed eyelets it is 120 cm, on knee-high women's boots 150 or 180 cm. On dark boots the lace runs up the shaft, deep yet never severe.
Playing with contrast: On cognac leather or grey suede, blackish brown shows its warm side.
Worn with: Dark suits and trouser suits in fine worsted, with a wool coat.
